Grading scale
10 Black Diamond Label
All four between ratings (subs) were rated as a 10
10 Diamond
DIAMOND – Absolutely perfect and as good as new condition (attention, so that your card receives a 10, it is checked under the microscope under 50-100 x magnification), the centering shows absolutely no deviation. This is how we calculate for a 10: a value of 9.75 is only rounded up if the surface and the centering are a 10. A value of 9.875 is always rounded up to a 10, even if Surface or Centering is 9.5. This calculation is only crucial for a 10.
9.5 Gem Mint
The Card shows no defects that can be seen with the naked eye, centering almost perfect
9 Mint
no surface defects, bends, creases / creases or spots, sharp and clear corners, centering almost perfect
8.5 NM-Mint
Minimal signs of wear, no surface defects, relatively sharp and clear corners, no folds / creases or stains, very slight bending possible, minimal deviation from centering
8 Near Mint
slightly blurred corners, small color or printing errors, slight to medium centering deviation
7 EX-NM
Color and printing errors, slight blurring in the picture, slightly blurred corners, slightly distorted cut, average deviation in centering
6 Excellent
Surface gloss and surface quality are impaired, corners have small curves, average deviation from centering
5 GD-EX
Slight creases or creases on the back, corners show signs of wear, slight creases on the edge, major printing problems, major deviations in centering
4 Good
Corners can be rounded, spots or creases, strong creases, if everything else is very good, this is the highest rating with a crease, A card in the good state would not go unmarked in any tournament if it was played without sleeves, strong deviation of the centering
3 Light Playes
Heavy wear, rounded corners, smaller cracks on the edges, little glue residue, few folds, strong centering deviation
2 Played
Very heavy wear, rounded corners, slight cracks on the edges, glue residues, several folds, the card is absolutely no longer very strong deviation from the centering
1 Poor
Significant problems, heavy wear and tear, kinks, pin holes, small tears, paper loss, manual repairs, adhesive strips, very strong centering deviations. The card is continuously kinked. We can determine about this state, that means we can leave out the calculation here (see calculation below).
calculation
This is how we calculate: As long as the highest and lowest ratings are no more than 2 grades apart (e.g. 10,10,9,8), the average of all 4 ratings is always calculated If a rating is more than 2 grades away from the highest (e.g. 10,10,9,7), the lowest is always used. If Surface or Centering received the worst grade, a max + 1 grade calculated. If Edges or Corners is the worst grade, a max. + 1.5 mark calculated. This is because our focus is on centering and surface. Cards with a total value of less than 7.0 are calculated as follows: 1. example 7+7+7+5 = 26/4 = 6.5 this value is not calculated to 7.0 but to 6.0. 2nd example 7+7+7+6 = 27/4 = 6.75 this value is calculated to the next higher number (in this example it would now be a score of 7.0).
